This 6-night journey begins in Matera, one of the world’s oldest cities, where candlelit grottoes and timeless stone streets will take your breath away. From there, we venture into Puglia’s Valle d’Itria — land of trulli houses, rolling vineyards, olive groves, and unforgettable meals shared under the stars.

Itinerary

Matera

Day 1: Arrival in Bari → Welcome to Matera

Private transfer to Matera (approx. 1 hr)

Settle into a cave hotel or boutique residence in the sassi

Light walking tour at golden hour: ancient stone paths, frescoed churches, sweeping views

Included Meal: Welcome aperitivo + dinner in a candlelit grotto restaurant
Overnight in Matera

Day 2: Secrets of the Stones – Matera

Guided tour of Matera's UNESCO heritage zones, rupestrian churches, and cave dwellings

Free time for wandering artisan shops or visiting Casa Noha or MUSMA (cave art museum)

Optional: cooking class or bread-making experience with local “nonna”
Overnight in Matera


Locorotondo

Day 3: Into the Heart of Puglia – Locorotondo

Scenic drive through the Murge plateau to Locorotondo (approx. 1.5 hrs)

Stop at a local winery for a tasting + vineyard lunch

Check into a charming trullo or countryside masseria

Evening stroll through Locorotondo’s whitewashed centro storico
Overnight in Locorotondo or countryside

Day 4: Villages of Valle d’Itria – Locorotondo

Full-day exploration of the valley’s gems:

Alberobello: iconic trulli houses

Martina Franca: graceful baroque architecture

Cisternino: one of Italy’s “Most Beautiful Villages”

Optional olive oil tasting or mozzarella demo

Dinner on your own at a cozy trattoria
Overnight in Locorotondo or countryside

Day 5: Seaside & Slow Sips – Locorotondo

Half-day visit to Polignano a Mare (cliffside seaside town)

Afternoon wine tasting at a family-run cantina near Ostuni

Sunset free time or massage at the masseria

Included Meal: Dinner in the countryside with Puglian specialties
Overnight in Locorotondo or countryside

Day 6: La Dolce Vita, Unhurried – Locorotondo

Sleep in, enjoy a farmhouse breakfast

Optional bike ride through the countryside or visit to Ostuni (“White City”)

Final afternoon to wander, shop, or relax

Included Meal: Farewell dinner under the stars — long table, flowing wine, new friends

Day 7: Arrivederci Puglia

Group transfer to Bari Airport (approx. 1 hr 15 min)
