Itinerary

Day 1 - Palermo
Welcome to the enchanting island of Sicily, rich in warmth, history and art. A private driver – awaiting your arrival at Palermo Falcone-Borsellino Airport PMO – will accompany you to your evening's accommodations, where a welcome dinner with Sicilian specialties awaits. (D)

Day 2 - Palermo & Monreale
Prepare yourself for a guided sightseeing feast, filled with domes and cupolas of Gothic, Byzantine, and Baroque architecture - to name just a few. Then travel to the magnificent Monreale Cathedral, where marvelous 12th century mosaics await within. (B)

  • Visit the Teatro Massimo, the Quattro Canti Square and the Fountain of Shame

Day 3 - Agrigento
Enjoy the beautiful, scenic drive to Agrigento and tour through the magnificent Valley of Temples with a local, private guide. Even travelers who have visited Athens and Delphi are awed by the miraculous Greek structures that have survived over twenty-four centuries of history. (B)

Day 4 - Ragusa & Modica
Guided sightseeing tour through Ragusa's oldest district, the IBLA, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with beautiful palaces and churches. Time on your own to further explore or maybe relax at an outdoor café! In the late afternoon, travel to nearby Modica with its steeply stacked medieval center and spectacular Baroque churches. Wander along Corso Umberto and stop at the famous Dolceria Bonajuto, Sicily's oldest chocolate factory, for a tasting. (B)

Day 5 - Siracusa & Ortigya
Birthplace of Archimedes. Enter the enchanting world of the archeological sites with a guided tour to appreciate its beauty. Time to explore the spectacular Old City, a maze of narrow streets lined with palaces, sprawling over the island of Ortygia. It was here that the famous geometrician Archimedes ran naked through the streets, exclaiming ‘Eureka!'. Enchanting Ortygia, mostly known for being the birthplace of Goddess Artemis, twin sister of Apollo. (B)

Day 6 - Taormina & Savoca
Pearl of the Mediterranean. Leisure morning to enjoy the beauty of Taormina and to visit the ancient Greek Theater, dating back to the 3rd century BC. In the afternoon on to the traditional village of Savoca. (B)

Day 7 - Strait of Messina & Sorrento
Board your ferry and cross the Strait of Messina to land at the toe of the Italian boot in Calabria. On your way to Sorrento enjoy orange, lemon and olive groves on the road. Walk through the picturesque narrow streets in Sorrento. (B)

Day 8 - Positano
Let the Mediterranean Sea breeze guide you through the colorful coastal village of Positano, where an air of ease and elegance graces charming old chapels, cute little cafés, and the quintessentially-quaint main streets that house them. (B,D)

Day 9 - Sorrento
Time to pack your bag, enjoy your final espresso and… Arrivederci Sorrento! (B)
